Hedegaard Releases Remainder Of Long-awaited Album Project ‘Kin’

After months of anticipation, multiple standout singles and an ambitious upcoming documentary

rollout spanning thousands of miles, Danish DJ, producer and label owner HEDEGAARD

unveils his most expansive and culturally significant project to date. The complete 10-track album

KIN is set to release worldwide June 19th, preceding the release of upcoming accompanying

documentary series Western China's Melody, bringing to a close one of electronic music's most

unique creative journeys of recent years.

What began with the infectious crossover appeal of ‘Say My Name’ alongside pop/dance

crossover superstar Arash, before progressing through the cinematic power of ‘Monolith’ with

MOGUAI and Brandon Beal and the dark, commanding energy of ‘Control’ with Waka Flocka

Flame, has now evolved into a fully realised body of work that stretches far beyond the boundaries

of a traditional dance music album.

Arriving alongside the wider album release is focus single ‘Monument’ featuring Danish pop icon

Jon, fresh off the re-awakening of his legendary ‘Turn The Lights Off’ record. Alongside Justė,

the latest protege from the Spinnin’ cohort, Jon has enjoyed an epic 2026 so far, with the new

version of the single racking up over 60 million streams on Spotify alone as well as thousands

of unique radio plays weekly. ‘Monument’ is an emotionally charged dance pop record, acting

as a signing off point for HEDEGAARD and the wider KIN project. Featuring HEDEGAARD’s

unique and unmistakable production style, as well as beautifully tuned topline from Jon -

‘Monument’ is a jaw-dropping musical moment on a cutting-edge musical project.

Created during extensive travels across Western China, KIN is the culmination of a project

years in the making. Inspired by ten distinct provinces and regions, the album draws upon

traditional instrumentation, local musicians, field recordings and cultural influences

gathered throughout HEDEGAARD's journey, reimagining them through the lens of modern

electronic music. The result is a collection that feels both globally minded and deeply personal,

balancing festival-ready production with authentic storytelling and regional identity.

Alongside a cast of internationally renowned collaborators including Arash, MOGUAI, Waka

Flocka Flame, Karen Harding, Brandon Beal, Safri Duo, Curbi and more, HEDEGAARD has

crafted an album built on connection. Across its 10 tracks, KIN explores the common ground

between cultures, demonstrating how music can transcend geography, language and tradition

while still respecting the roots from which it originates.

Completing the experience is Western China's Melody, the documentary series created

alongside the album. Across 10 episodes, viewers are invited behind the scenes of the creative

process, exploring the landscapes, communities and musical traditions that shaped each

track. From remote villages and ancient cultural practices to spontaneous collaborations and

studio sessions, the series provides an intimate look at the human stories behind the music.
