Solomun and Skrillex Release Their First-Ever Collaboration Single: “Rumpta”

Solomun and Skrillex come together on “Rumpta”, a collaboration that has been circulating through both of their recent live sets and has steadily built anticipation among their crowds. The track has already surfaced at several standout shows, including Solomun’s special show at Tehmplo Tulum, his two sold-out nights at Alexandra Palace in London, and his highly acclaimed set at EDC Las Vegas in May, where it landed as one of the defining moments of the event.

The release brings together two of the most influential DJs and producers in the world, with “Rumpta” culminating days after its unveiling, on July 5th, when Skrillex and Solomun share the booth at Solomun’s long-running +1 residency at Pacha Ibiza.

“Rumpta” features vocals that nod to classic house while adding a contemporary edge, built for peak-time moments with a distinct groove that locks in as the beat drops. It pushes the tempo while maintaining an immersive flow, a dynamic that has become a hallmark of both Solomun’s and Skrillex’s live sets and productions, each leaving its own mark on the electronic music scene.

In 2025, Skrillex joined Solomun as a special guest for Solomun +1, with their b2b at Pacha Ibiza standing out as one of the most exciting sets of the season. The connection between them felt instinctive in the way it unfolded, moving across their distinct styles with clear overlap in rhythm and selection rather than contrast for its own sake, built around flow and pacing that gave the night a natural arc.

Their new collaboration “Rumpta” sits in that same space. For Skrillex, it draws on a production style rooted in precise sound design and tightly built arrangements where elements are placed to hit and shift against each other with intention. For Solomun, it’s another unexpected link in a catalogue that has long moved between underground foundations and landmark stages, without leaning away from either.
