MDLBEAST Records has signed Australian DJ and producer Young Franco in a joint venture with the electronic label Resound Records. The signing marks a significant move in MDLBEAST Records' strategy to expand its global roster through strategic label partnerships, with Young Franco serving as the first artist to emerge from the newly formed collaboration. The announcement is accompanied by the release of 'Champion Sound (feat. Riko Dan)', available now across all platforms.
The joint venture sees MDLBEAST Records partner with Resound Records, the electronic label founded by Smiley Cleary, Carlos West, and Wayne Ringrow, to bring Young Franco to a global stage. Rather than signing artists in isolation, MDLBEAST Records is aligning with established labels that have already done the foundational work. Resound Records, with its proven track record across A&R, licensing, and artist development, and a history of working with internationally acclaimed acts including Skrillex, Justice, Rudimental, MEDUZA, James Hype, and Levi, is a natural first partner in that model.
The signing of Young Franco reflects MDLBEAST Records’ commitment to underscoring its strategic ambition to establish artists with proven commercial track records and cross-cultural reach internationally. Young Franco brings with him over 500 million combined streams, four ARIA Gold-certified singles, an ARIA nomination for Best Solo Artist & Breakthrough artist in 2025, an Emmy nomination, and a history of high-value brand partnerships with Apple, Google, EA Sports, FIFA, and the NFL, making him one of the most commercially active artists in Australia’s electronic music export pipeline.
His debut release on the label, ‘Champion Sound (feat. Riko Dan)’, demonstrates the international scope MDLBEAST Records is pursuing: a collaboration between an Australian producer and a UK MC, released via a Saudi Arabia headquartered label, targeting audiences across Europe, North America, and the
Asia-Pacific. The track blends techno house, Brazilian funk, and UK garage, a deliberately borderless production designed to perform across markets.
For the joint venture, the signing signals continued momentum. With a US tour for Young Franco scheduled for summer 2026 and established traction in the UK and European markets through BBC Radio 1support and sold-out headline dates, both MDLBEAST Records and Resound Records gain immediate access to an active international touring and streaming footprint.
Since its inception in 2022, MDLBEAST Records has grown into a globally recognised label, building a diverse roster that spans homegrown regional talent and internationally acclaimed artists alike. With releases from the likes of Zeyne, Afrojack, R3HAB, Salvatore Ganacci, and Cosmicat, the label is steadily cementing itself as the international powerhouse it was always built to be.
Resound Records brings a complementary depth to the joint venture. Founded by Smiley Cleary, Carlos West, and Wayne Ringrow, the label's combined experience spans work with Skrillex, Justice, Rudimental, MEDUZA, James Hype, and Levi, among hundreds of others, a track record that speaks directly to the kind of artist development and global release strategy the joint venture is built on.
The move is consistent with MDLBEAST's broader strategy of using its entertainment infrastructure, anchored by Soundstorm, one of the world's largest music festivals, as a launchpad for cultural partnerships that extend well beyond the MENA region. With a roster that includes regional heavyweights Zeyne, Cosmicat, TUL8TE, and Dish Dash alongside internationally established acts like Young Franco, the label is actively building the kind of cross-cultural credibility that positions it as a genuine destination for talent seeking both creative and commercial scale.
