Damian Lazarus Announces Date for Day Zero Tulum 2027

Sleep Inside the Machine: Kraftwerk Berlin Opens Its Doors and Its Beds for 30 Hours

On January 9th, 2027, Damian Lazarus will once again open the portal to a world suspended between ritual and rave, nature and fantasy, sound and ceremony as Day Zero returns to its spiritual home in Tulum. For one night, the jungle becomes a living realm of ancient Mayan ritual, hypnotic sound, and otherworldly spectacle, carrying partygoers through a transcendent journey where the earthly and ethereal dissolve into one beneath the rising sun.

Since emerging from the jungles of Tulum in 2012, Day Zero has existed in a world entirely of its own — a gathering shaped as much by its environment as the music itself. Towering structures rise from the forest floor, ceremonial performers move through the crowd like apparitions, and dancers surrender to marathon sets beneath shifting lights and dense jungle skies. Every element is designed to heighten the sense of discovery, transforming the jungle into a surreal dreamscape of avant-garde wonder.

At the center of Day Zero is the curatorial vision of Damian Lazarus, whose instinct for boundary-pushing electronic music has made both Day Zero and his label Crosstown Rebels enduring forces within underground culture. Bringing together pioneering selectors, live acts, and emerging artists from across the corners of the sonic realm, Day Zero unfolds as an emotional and transportive journey that is impossible to replicate anywhere else in the world.

Over the past decade, Day Zero has evolved far beyond the Yucatán while remaining deeply connected to the mythology born beneath its canopy. What began in Tulum has expanded into a global constellation of gatherings, with new editions emerging in Brazil and Bali earlier this year. From the coastal stillness of Brazil to the sacred terrain of Bali, each edition reflects the energy of the place it inhabits — celebrating local rhythms, natural elements, and cultural atmospheres while carrying forward the same ethos that defines the jungle gathering.

Beyond the dancefloor, Day Zero continues to deepen its connection to the land and local community through its Crosstown Consciousness initiative. Recent efforts from Damian Lazarus and his team have included installing solar-powered street lights throughout Dos Ojos, supporting turtle conservation projects along Tulum’s coastline, organizing beach cleanups, and donating to the local Titanes de Tulum children’s soccer team. Since 2022, Day Zero has also partnered with Mexican company PETGAS to convert festival plastic waste into biodegradable fuel used to help power onsite infrastructure, alongside extensive recycling systems and a strict no single-use plastics policy across the event grounds.

Working closely with local Mayan leaders, Day Zero continues to honor the cultural and spiritual heritage of the region through ceremonial programming rooted in respect for the sacred land on which the gathering takes place. The festival also remains committed to championing regional electronic music culture through El Teatro — a stage dedicated entirely to Mexican artists.

Day Zero has long beaconed a global community of explorers drawn toward the energy that exists deep within the Tulum jungle. On January 9th, Damian Lazarus invites the world back beneath the jungle canopy as Day Zero returns home to its spiritual home.

Tickets of Trust will go live on June 2nd at 11am Tulum time for pre-sale registrants. General on-sale will follow at 3pm Tulum time.
